📜 Maracaturra, a fascinating coffee variety, originated as a natural cross between Caturra and Maragogipe in Nicaragua. Although the initial selections by the Nicaraguan Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) in 1976 were interrupted by the Sandinista revolution, the variety was extracted and planted in other countries where it preserved its genetic diversity, though it has not fully homogenized. This means it is still in a phase of domestication, producing wild and distinctive flavors.
